The Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) is the primary unit responsible for conducting maltreatment investigations for vulnerable adults. It is the first unit that receives the incident report.
The MAARC distributes incident reports to lead investigative agencies within 48 hours of receiving them.
Since the report is initially presented by the mandated reporter to the MAARC, they can request an initial disposition of the submitted report from the lead investigative agency when submitting the report to the MAARC.
The agency will then provide the information to the reporter within five business days of receiving the report. However, this disclosure will only be done if the notification does not interfere with the investigation and the vulnerable adult is not endangered in any way.
