6.4.1 Automated Cleaning

Automated cleaning is usually conducted in an automated washer-disinfector. Medical equipment is cleaned by the automated washer disinfector using water jets, washed with warm water and detergent, and then thermally infected. More than 60 trays can be disinfected per hour.

Washer disinfectors provide the certainty of removing over 90% of microbes from the environment while reducing the risk of human mistakes.
